[email protected]Open the Chrome Web Store page, press Add to Chrome, then pin BuyWhen from the puzzle-piece menu.
On any product page, click the BuyWhen icon, pick a target and press Track price.
Search a product on Google. The Best prices panel shows every store’s offer, lowest first.
Make sure you are on a Google search results page (google.com/search or your country’s Google) and that the search shows shopping offers. Check that “Show panel on Google” is on in BuyWhen Dashboard → Settings. If you minimised the panel, click the small “offers from …” pill to open it again.
Click the BuyWhen icon and choose “Pick price on page”, then click the price. You can also right-click the page and choose “BuyWhen: pick a price”. BuyWhen remembers the spot for future checks.
Check that notifications are allowed for Chrome in your computer’s settings, and that alerts are on in Dashboard → Settings. Chrome must be running for background checks. If a product shows “Allow access”, click it so BuyWhen can check that store.
To check a price in the background, Chrome needs your permission for that store’s website. BuyWhen asks per store, only when you track something there. You can remove access in chrome://extensions → BuyWhen → Details.
Open the product and press “Check now” in the BuyWhen popup. If it is still wrong, use “Pick price on page” to choose the correct price. Some stores show different prices by location, login or currency.
In Dashboard → Settings press Export to save a backup file, then press Import on the other computer. The same works for the web price tracker on this site.
Remove products one by one, or use Dashboard → Settings → Delete everything. Uninstalling BuyWhen also removes all of its data from your browser.
