- BuyWhen has no account, no servers of its own, no analytics and no ads.
- Everything BuyWhen saves stays in your browser on your device.
- We never sell, share or transfer your data to anyone.
What BuyWhen does
BuyWhen helps you find the lowest price for a product and decide when to buy it. It compares the shopping offers shown on Google search results, keeps a price history for products you choose to follow, and alerts you when a price drops to your target.
Information the extension handles

BuyWhen does not collect your name, email address, payment details, passwords, location, health information or messages. It does not record your general browsing history. It only reads Google search results pages and the product pages of items you decide to track or check.
When the extension connects to websites
- Store pages you track. To check a price, BuyWhen loads the product page directly from that store, as your browser would, including the store’s own cookies so the price matches what you normally see.
- Product images. Images in the watchlist load from the store or image address saved with the product.
- Track from Google. When you press Track on an offer, BuyWhen opens the store page once to read its real price. Sponsored offers open in a normal, visible tab.
These requests go straight from your browser to the website involved. BuyWhen has no server in between and receives no copy of the data.
Permissions
BuyWhen asks for access to store websites only when you choose to track or check a product there, and you can remove that access at any time in Chrome’s extension settings. It reads Google search results pages to compare the offers shown there. Notifications are used only for price alerts you turn on.
This website
- No cookies, analytics or ads. This website does not use cookies, browser storage, analytics tools, advertising or third-party scripts. Fonts and images are served from this website. It does not collect any information from visitors.
- Links to other websites. Links to the Chrome Web Store and other websites open those websites, which have their own privacy policies.
- Hosting. This website is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub may log technical information such as IP addresses to keep the service secure, as described in the GitHub Privacy Statement. We do not receive or use these logs.
- Email. If you email support, we use your email address and message only to reply to you, and delete them when they are no longer needed.
Sharing and selling
BuyWhen does not sell, rent, share or transfer your data to any third party. It does not use your data for advertising, credit decisions or any purpose unrelated to tracking prices. No person at BuyWhen can see the data stored in your browser.
The use of information received from Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Your choices and deleting your data
- Remove any product from your watchlist at any time.
- Use Settings, Delete everything in the BuyWhen dashboard to erase all products, history and the deal log.
- Use Settings, Export to save a copy of your list for yourself.
- Uninstalling BuyWhen removes all of its stored data from your browser.
Children
BuyWhen is a general shopping tool and is not directed at children under 13. It does not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If BuyWhen ever changes how it handles data, this page will be updated with a new effective date before the change takes effect.
